Binge Culture’s multi-award winning Whales is an absorbing street spectacle in which the audience work together to save a pod of stranded whales.
The pod swims along the coast, singing, playing and waving their fins. They are on their way back to the ocean, but before they get to it, they strand! A Response Team is there to lead the rescue, but they need the audience’s help! The whales need buckets of water splashed on them and songs sung to them to keep them cool, calm and comfortable. Everyone must work together to save these majestic wild creatures and get them safely back home to the ocean.
Binge Culture is looking for performers (performing experience welcome but not essential!) to perform as either whales or the response team. Performers must attend a 2 hour workshop on Friday 22nd February and arrive at 2:30 pm for a 4pm performance on Saturday 23 February. All ages welcome (under 14s must be accompanied by an adult).
Please note, the performance takes place on the land, but whales should prepare to get wet!
